Hello to all.

A quick update. Faith is finishing up a four day and three night conference in Câmpina, Romania on working with attachment disorder children. She and all the houseparents will be coming home this afternoon. It is about a six hour drive home threw the windy roads of Romania. Please pray for safe travels on their way back.

While mom was away dad and the kids had fun eating homemade stuffed pizza, movie night with the fouts kids with more pizza, and sledding. We had so much fun sledding down the mountain. Levi was called the crazy because he took the round saucer down from the top. He only flew off the sled twice. His story is he hit the ground so hard he cracked the ice and got mud on his hat. No need for concern, he only slid across an open patch of ground created by other sledders that had crashed. We all had so much fun, even Chloe went down from the top, but only with dad as the driver.

She only screamed the first time because snow flew in her face, but after that she was tirelessly demanding to go again without a pause in-between climbs.

Mihai had fun with a few runs, but enjoyed watching most, that is until he got cold. If you know him, he does not like the cold. Well, needless to say we had a blast!!!

Boys Bible Study at Colobita Lake

November 21, 2009-
The guys took a trip up to Colobita lake and learned from the Israelites three important lessons.

1. In every situation that God leads us into, He will lead us out.
2. God is with us in every situation.
3. God will always give us a way out when we cannot find a way.
The Lord led the Israelites to the Red Sea for a reason.

Colobita Lake is situated in the mountains about 45 minutes away from Bistrita. Taking along sandwiches for lunch, we headed up to the mountains. The lake was a great illustration of what the Israelites were facing at the Red Sea. Mountains on both sides, a sea in front of them, and the Egyptian army coming from behind them. Humanly speaking there was no escape. But, God being in control, had a plan all along to show who was the Almighty. We can always trust that the Lord will lead us through each situation we face.

The guys had fun playing near the lake. Running, jumping, practicing hand stands, and exploring was a great way to spend time together.

Dear Family and Friends,
Here are some pics of Levi's end of the school year program. He also graduated and is moving on to first grade. He will be attending the sports school. He is growing up!!

Singing

Just wanted to send a quick update for the month.
The ministry is going well. The budget is very good right now, thanks to many of you who started sponsoring kids, and donating general gifts and funds. Each house now has everything they need for the kids, and the house parents. We are still praying for house parents for the family center in Bistrita. The couple must be Romanian, and strong Christians walking with the Lord. This is difficult in Romania, but we have put the word out to churches, friends, etc. We still have had no word on this or interviews. We need a couple that is truly called from the Lord to fill this position, so please keep praying faithfully for this as we know the Lord will provide. The kids in this house have been separated for the time, between our family and the other missionary family. Sebi is adjusting well in our family, and has actually although hard at times been a blessing as well. It has been neat to see him grow just the last few months, and to be able to share the Lord with him on a daily basis.

The kids in the Unirea family center are all doing well. The house parents are wonderful to them, the girls are helping the parents with their garden on the weekends, and one of the older girls has been able to start translating for me with the little kids Sunday school class. It is a wonderful experience to see each and every one of them growing. Alexandra the oldest of the kids also was able to come and help me get a vegetable garden going at our own house as well. It was a great day to spend with her, although we were quite dirty, hot and sweaty.

We finished up our girls Bible study in Proverbs 31, and will be having a girls pajama party at our house the last Friday in May to kick off the summer.

Personally we are doing great. We have been working hard on learning the language better, although it still seems to be coming along slow at times. Chris is really good at it, and Levi has finally started speaking Romanian. Levi will be graduating from the kindergarten first week of June, and will start first grade at the Sports School in the fall. Chloe will still be in the small group at the kindergarten for one more year. Mihai is growing so fast and is doing really well, although he eats way more than any of the other kids:) This month we were able to add to our butter, learning how to make yogurt, thanks to the help of Mom (Anderson).

Some things that we need prayer for are that we are still trying to save up enough to furnish our house. We are getting a little furniture at a time as we save. Also we will be doing some traveling in the month of June. Chris will be leaving June 7th for a trip to Austria for a meeting with the pastor from Boise. Then June 22nd we will be traveling to Hungary for the missionary leadership conference. Please pray for safe travels during this time. Chris will be starting a Wednesday night Bible study at the church with all the family center kids, and will be starting a Bible study once a month just for the boys in July. Please pray for all the family center kids as they are finishing up schools, and have exams etc. Please pray for them as well during the summer, as some will be able to visit some family members, or go on little vacations, for safety and the Lord's protection over them. Thank you again for all that you do in the Lord and for being a part of His ministry along side us.

During the Easter break we took a trip to
Hunedoara, Romania. We visited the castle there.
We were able to walk through the castle seeing
how people lived.

The kids enjoyed playing outside the castle
among the ruins.

The kids also enjoyed the playground.

After visiting our friends in Hunedoara we returned to Bistrita

for a wonderful Easter service Sunday morning.

New Beginnings is still in need of house parents

for the one family center. Sebi is fitting into our family

well. He went to Hunedoara with us and had a wonderful

time.

Unirea family center is doing great, they are all looking

forward to the summer and no school. The parents are

doing great and are planning on taking their vacation in

July and then are planning on taking the rest of it in September.

The Targoviste Family Center is doing well. The kids are

taking some spanish classes to learn spanish. I visited with

them and they all were practicing the spanish they knew with

me. It was a joy to see them and hear them speak spanish, romanian,

and a few words of English.

My dell laptop is needs to be replaced soon. I fear that it will not

last too much longer. I would like to purchase a macbook pro along

with a minimac (for you pc'ers out there, a minimac is a mini desktop,

and a macbookpro is a laptop). :-) The minimac would be for the house,

or more accurately, faith. The macbookpro would be for me (and faith) to

use. I would love to switch to mac.

We also are praying about a larger vehicle. The ministry vehicle is no

longer fitting our needs. We have six people now and the ministry

vehicle only has five seatbelts.

I, Chris, will be travelling to Austria in the beginning of June. And a week

later we will be travelling to Hungary for the leadership conference. Please be

in prayer for our travells.

We made it!! We arrived in Bistrita, Romania at midnight, Tuesday. Thank you all for your prayers as we traveled. Levi, Chloe and Mihai did awesome. They were very well behaved on the flight and in the airports.

Since our apartment had been locked up for three months we have some mold on the walls to clean, and air out the apartment. The weather was about 44 degrees so we were able to open the windows without freezing too much.

All of our luggage arrived with us, so that was a blessing, we just have to unpack it now.
Thank you again for all your prayers and for all you did for us while we were in the states.

An update long awaited.

Above is the newsletter that should have been sent out from september.
To catch everyone one up. We are in the states after two years away. We will be heading back January 26th. The best part of it is how God worked it all out. We were planning on coming from January to march, but the Lord had other plans. Even though it was against all odds we wanted Mihai to come with us. So Nicu and i traveled to Bucurest to apply for his visa. After talking with the consulate, asked to wait (while we saw one after another person get turned away or accepted). After about an hour, the consulate called us back up and asked us all the same questions again. They agreed to a two month temporary visa. But when we recieved the visa, it was for oct 30th to January 28th. Instead of going through the whole application process again, everything fell in place for us to go on these dates.
After seventeen hours of flying, with the kids only taking a nap, we arrived in Boise, Id. We were taken to where we would stay for the week while in Boise.

The Coprivnicars were such a blessing, coming home to family. Another family blessed us in the use of thier vehicle- even though we never met them, they were a blessing.

On to Iowa. Twenty hours later, we arrived to surprise Chris' family. From hunting squirrel and pheasant, to shopping downtown Soiux Falls, SD on the day after thanksgiving,we enjoyed our time with family.

On to North Carolina, with a stop in Nashville to have dinner with our cousins. Olive Garden was such a treat. After four hours of conversation and great food, we were on the road again. 24 hours after leaving Boise, we arrived at Faith's moms house. What a wonderful surprise for her mom, and family. Now, here we are in North Carolina.
Gospel Baptist Church as an apartment for missionaries. What a wonderful idea. We are able to stay here, and fellowship. We will be travelling some in the next month and a half. But nothing to the extent of Cross country as we have just accomplished. (Another cross-country under my belt.)
To everyone who has helped us through praying for safe travels, to financially supporting us, you have been a blessing to us and the ministry. Without your help this would not have been possible.

Cabin of Hope, August 2008

Family Center/ Church Camp Bistrita, Romania first week in August. The kids had a great time and loved seeing the cabana all fixed up. They studied the life of Samson from the Bible, played lots of games, and ate lots of food.

The family center kids from Brasov, Romania came to have a camp with us the last week of August. It was great having the 8 kids be the first besides our family center kids to use the camp. They enjoyed it and had lots of fun. The older boys especially enjoyed making the fires each day as the camp was led by three of us ladies, the fire became the boys job:) We studied the life of Daniel from the Bible and the hope that he had in the Lord. The kids saw how Daniel wasn't fearful because he believed God's word to be true and trusted in Him above all else.

Roasting Smores night. The kids enjoyed them all so much, and had never had them before.

Chloe's first smore, she had to do a little dance to go with it she enjoyed it so much!

Cabin of Hope

Well the team has now come and gone for the Cabin of Hope project. We were all so exhausted by the end of the two weeks, but a good exhausted. We were able to get so much done, and still had a little bit left from our budget. The cabana now has running water, hot at that, a shower, and a flushing toilet. We now have a very nice picnic table that matches the cabana, a basketball goal, a swing for the kids, fresh painted walls, fresh stained outside, bathroom walls, a fence to keep the cows and horses out, and many other things. One thing we were not able to get done was the bunk beds, but we hope to accomplish that soon with the left over money. Thank you so much to all that came to help us with this project. We really appreciated all that you did for us and it could not have been done without your help. Thank you as well to all of those who prayed for the team and the project both before and during the time the team was here. One of our favorite parts of this project is that we were able to be a part of it as a family. The kids loved staying at the cabana, and helping in any way that they could. Chloe loved sweeping up the patio, and well Levi, he loved throwing all the scraps into the fire. Mihai untill he got sick had a great time just following every one around. It was a great blessing to be able to be a part of all that God is going to do.

Praying over those who were sick. Our mornings and evenings consisted of devotions, prayer, and worship, before starting our day and then ending our day.

quick update

Hi every body. Sorry we are a little behind on our blog. We still need to post our Hungary trip, our time in Brasov, and then we need to put the update on the cabana. For right now I will just say that every thing is going well with the cabana, it has been really neat as God has brought together people from the States, England, Hungary, and Romania for His project. It has been a huge blessing to see everything come together as well as exhausted and sometimes a bit overwhelming. It is good to know that we have rest at the feet of Jesus:)

Thank you so much for all of your prayers. As soon as this coming week is over we should have a little more time to place all of our pictures up. Please pray for Colby as well. He will be leaving on July 31st to fly back home. I know that both he and his family will be glad to see each other again. He has been a great blessing to have here and we will miss him. Please pray for his safe travels.

June 10-11 2008

The kids end of school year excursion. They took a 20 minute train ride to a cabana. They left at 7:30 am and returned 7 pm. I have to admit I was a little worried about sending Chloe especially as she is only 3 years old.

This is our center's church. To us the center is downtown. This church is called by some the Lutheran church and others the Evangelical church. It is not in use right now for services, but is for concerts and special events, such as Easter celebrations. Arson is suspected but not yet determined. The church is from the 14th century, and was the tallest in all of the Transylvania area. It was kind of sad to see part of the history of our town in flames. They have been trying to rebuild it for sometime and it had scaffolding up to the top. All of the scaffolding and the steeples burned off. I was reminded of two things on this day. The first one is that worry is a sin. The second is that the things of this earth will all one day pass away.

The kids end of school year program. It was all in Romanian, but they did a great job, and it was a pleasure to watch. Levi will be moving up to the big class next school year at the kindergarten, he is so excited about that, and is looking forward to having homework:)

The Romanian National Conference in Codlea, Romania went well. Approximately 130 Romanians came to the conference from all over Romania. Not only were the guest speakers encouraged but so were each one of us. Besides a few of us being sick, we all were encouraged by the messages.

Mom and Dad sent this too me and I thought a would share a tidbit of my past with y'all.

On August 13, 1976 in Grand Forks, N. Dakota God created a great joy in the hearts of Russ and Harriet as He blessed them with their first child and son, Christopher L. Anderson weighing seven pounds and nine ounces. My name is special as i am named after Uncle Lowell and also my name means "follower of Christ". I was baptized two weeks later in the church where my dad was a student pastor for one year. after baptism we made our first move from N. Dakota back to seminary in Ft. Wayne, Ind. There i spent the first year eating, sleeping, growing and exploring. I had the bluest eyes and the blondest hair on my first birthday in August. By then our little family knew it was time for another move; we were going to Nigeria Africa. First we traveled to Stl Louis, Missouri where I received all kinds of shots; yellow fever, typhoid, small pox. I decided that women in white were NOT my friends. We all enjoyed the summer by doing fun things too. There was the Zoo, the Merrimack Caverns and the time dad took us trout fishing. Our time went fast and we were on our way to Nigeria. Mom remembers a funny thing on the plane. We had just recieved our food trays and on the tray was a dinner roll that was as round as a ball and as hard as one. My eyes just lit up seeing that and immediately reached for it, picked it up, and THREW IT ACROSS the plane, the stewardess retrieved it and told us that at a year and two months we had quite a pitcher. Mom and dad were embarrassed but i thought it had been great fun. My first year in Nigeria was getting used to the rain, the bugs, the snakes, my new sister, finding friends and discovering what our neighbors did. One day i had heard a rooster crow and went to find him, and Mom and dad heard a blood curdling scream coming from the chicken house. Dad ran to find a one and a half year old boy covered to his knees with half inch size ants biting him viciously. Dad immediately brushed them off and got bit himself. So i quickly learned not to wander too far off from the house by myself.
Mom and Dad also raised some chickens for eggs and also some roosters for meat. One day while i was playing by the chicken house the largest rooster came out and attacked me by flying at me with his feet and his sharp spurs, which were at least three inches long. There was another horrible scream and Dad came to the rescue. Mom and Dad were sure my guardian angel had been there to protect me as the wound was so close to my eye--- you know, i could have lost my eye! Well anyway we had chicken for supper that night.
My first good friend was Sunday and what fun we had together as he showed me what boys did in the village. i learned to eat fufu and soup, rice and beans and all kids of meat with lots and lots of hot red pepper ( that sure made me run home for a quick drink of water). I played soccer, peeled cassava, climbed high coconut trees, which worried my mom very much. Before i knew it, it was time to go back to the US for furlough.
This time when i got on the plane i knew better not to throw my dinner roll for after all i was four now. That summer we all settled for three months in Norman, OK. where Dad and i attended the University and mom had my first brother, Timmy. Dad and i had a great time. He rode his bike every morning and i would go with him by riding in the bike seat. In between Dad's classes we did manage to do some fun things like go swimming, go to a "Frontier village" with rides, and to lots of parks with slides and swings.
Well, we were once again ready to go back to Nigeria, but this time there would be a new schedule. For i was now five and needed to start school. Mom decided afternoons was the best time, so while i was in school my sis and brother took their naps. it worked out great, for mom was able to spend several quiet hours with just me.
We took a vacation to Togo. It was a long drive by car. I loved the ocean the best, but it was so salty that it stung my eyes. I was about six years old when our brother Matthew joined us- three boys, and one girl. Yeah, the boys were winning-three to one. In 1982 we were ready for furlough and this time we stopped in Germany on the way home. I remember the train rides we took and the Zoo in Hanover. the neatest thing that happened there was that all the big cats (lions, tigers, ect.) were being fed and the noise they made could be heard all over the zoo--boy, what a noise!
When we got back from furlough I moved to a new village. it was hard at first to make new friends, but i found one friend that i kept the rest of the years in Nigeria. His name was Ben, One thing my Dad and i liked to do was to go fishing. When i was eight our while family went to an island to spend a couple of days and there i lost two fish--the line broke-- but dad caught his forty four pound Niger perch. It was a neat place to go since we could swim during the day, fish at night and sit by the camp fire and listen the the hippos swim by. We were safe though as we camped on higher ground so that the hippos never bothered us. we didn't need tents since we slept in mosquito nets. it really was a neat time.
Our third furlough home we left early enough so i could be in the US for my first Halloween We had family fun by cutting up the pumpkins and mom had fun making our suits. i was Count Dracula. Since i was home longer i went to Pipestone Public School-- third grade. It was a hard time for me, but through prayer i made it and i didn't quit.
Now when we went back i had more school- longer hours and now a classmate--my sister. also y friend ben and i were doing more things together. ben and i would go to farm together. we belonged to a boys club that worked on people's farm. we fished and hunted rats together. whenever mom let me , i was over at this house. he also had a very nice family. ben and i did everything together. one of the saddest times in my life so far was when we had to leave Nigeria and i had to say goodbye to Ben. but i still pray for him and who knows, maybe we'll meet again.
When i was nine years old i had another brother, Marcus. He's a neat little guy. soon after Marcus was born we took a really special vacation to Kenya as a family. the first thing we all wanted to see were the animals. we went on a three day Safari, which was great. The best thing that happened on the safari was seeing a lioness with a zebra. Which she had killed that morning. it was interesting to see that she ate the belly first so that the meat would not rot so quickly. we slept in tents and one time we didn't zip the zipper on our tent all the way and some small monkeys had come in while we were gone and ate our special candy bar treats, which dad had gotten for us. we were all so sad that dad that dad went and got us a few morn. but we learned our lesson well- ZIP TENT SECURELY.
We took a night train to the beach-Indian Ocean- and that wa the best time. I loved the ocean. i would ride the waves for hours and never get tired of it. I also went deep sea fishing with dad and i wa the only one who caught a fish. just a small one called a Cooley Cooley. one day there was a camel on the beach so we had to barter for a ride. we finally rode a camel. that was a different kind of ride. we got back to Nigeria in July and in November my little brother Marcus got very sick and we all thought he was going to die. Mom, Dad, and Marcus and his doctor flew to Holland in a hurry. to get better hospital care. but it was a very hard time for me without mom and dad- i sure missed them. My brothers, sister, and i along with mom and dad did alot of crying and praying as a family. It was a special day when mom and dad came home with Marcus.
now we were beginning to hear and talk about going back the the US and staying there and not coming back. i was feeling very sad inside but knew that i didn't want to go to boarding school and mom was already teaching three of us and matty would be ready to start soon. mom said she just didn't have enough hours for four students by herself without help. it took us many months to pack and get ready to go and leave our HOME for good. Like i said, my goodbye to my friend ben was one th the hardest things i had had to do.
On our way home we were able to spend some more time in Holland with friends. we also went to Austria where my grandma was from. there were mountain to walk on and small ponds to swim in. It was a fun month before we came to the US.
And now that brings us to Luverne, MN where we had temporarily settled. I enjoy going to Edgerton Christian School, especially being able to play basketball, softball, track, and football. for i never had these opportunities in Nigeria.
While i have been in the fifth grade i had another sister, Jenny, who is so special, so soft and with such chubby cheeks. (Emmy says, the girls are catching up with the boys now).
My family and i are waiting now to see where the Lord is leading all of us to serve Him next.
This was the first eleven years of my life. We were in Nigeria, Africa from 1977 to 1987. I still have so many memories from long ago. I pray that you enjoyed reading this excerpt from my pass.

Happy Birthday for those who do not know Romanian. Hi my name is Chloe Ruth Anderson. I turned 3 on my birthday, April 12th. I am no longer a baby but a big girl. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I live in Romania and it is my favorite place in the world. I love saying hi to all my neighbors even though sometimes I mess up and tell them good morning when it really is good afternoon. I just have not perfected the Romanian language just yet. I go to the kindergarten and have lots of fun. Although I am ready for a little break.

So my favorite thing to do inside is to play with my baby dolls, and shoes. Outside however, I enjoy being just like my big brother Levi. I think that I can run as fast as him, ride his bike like him, even though I can't reach the pedals, and I don't mind getting dirty with him. I also really enjoy playing with Mihai my baby brother, well I love him just like my baby brother.

I do not have a favorite color yet. I think I like them all. I want pass any up. I can dress myself now even though sometimes my mom says it is backwards. So what else would you like to know about me. I do not know how tall I am or how much I weigh as in Romania that is not important at your doctor check ups. Well I guess that is all for now. The Lord gave,

I pray this finds you all in good health. As Christmas time began God blessed us
with one of His miraculous works-pregnancy. We were overjoyed that God would place
this precious gift once again on our family. As 2007 came to a close and the new year
began, God had other plans for this little one he so lovingly wove. We will never know
why, but blessed be the name of the Lord. Faith had to have a D & C. She is recovering.
The Lord is good and faithful through all this.
Pray for us as we go through this.
As I am writing, Psalm 139 comes to mind-

O Lord, You have searched me and known me,
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways,

Christmas 2007

Wow, what a Christmas! The Lord has blessed us with so many friends and family who have went out of their way to make this Christmas memorable for not only our family, but the family centers. Since this is Our first Christmas in Romania we were not really sure what to expect. We wanted to put on a Christmas party for the family centers, but did not know where to get anything for a party that size. The Bingham-Shull Sunday school class from Trinity Baptist Church not only wanted to help us give the children in the family centers a wonderful Christmas, but us as well. What a blessing they have been. The kids really enjoyed seeing the picture of the Sunday school class that sent so much.

Calvary Chapel Lebanon, a church we do not even know, contacted Brian Fouts, the Missionary Pastor of Calvary Chapel Bistrita, and asked if they could send some gifts for the kids as well. Wow, what an awesome Christmas each and everyone of you each were involved in.

After everyone arrived we thanked everyone for coming, and announced that the gifts just had to wait until the end to be opened. :-) First we would read the Story of Jesus' birth from Luke, then we would sing some songs and have a few snacks....and then, finally, the gifts. All the kids waited til everyone received their presents before beginning to open them.

At the end of the night everyone was overwhelmed with joy, even the houseparents (especially the new set of houseparents that started December 1).

Our personal Christmas was so relaxing and fun. We all thank you so much for making this a perfect Christmas. Chloe loves her dolls, and because she has baby dolls, they needed a bed to sleep in before they kicked her out of hers (or at least before she tries to use that excuse). A couple days before Christmas we began reading the Christmas story from Luke starting from Luke one and so when Christmas morning arrived we would be on the birth of Christ. Christmas eve we each opened one gift. We each took our turn opening the gift while everyone else watched to see what we received and to enjoy it with us. Then we all slept in the living room until Christmas morning. Chloe gave up and asked to sleep in her bed about 945pm. Christmas morning was an early morning. But before we could open gifts we had breakfast first. Homemade pancakes with homemade syrup. After the dishes were done we finally sat down to open our gifts. Starting with the youngest and working our way up to me. Each one getting one gift and opening it as everyone else anticipates and waits.

The last two gifts for Chloe and Levi were their big gifts. Levi received a bicycle and Chloe a baby cradle for her babies. Faith knew what Chloe was getting but was not allowed to see it until it was uncovered on Christmas morning. Chloe loved it. Immediately the babies had to take a nap.

The Month of December so Far

At the end of November we had a farewell pizza party to one of our house parents. They will be deeply missed, especially by the kids in the family center. It was a nice farewell with lots of hugs and kisses from the kids. The Lord has provided a new set of house parents all ready which started on December 1st. Please pray the the new parents and the kids during this time of change and transition.

We had a picture done up of all the kids in their family center for them to keep with them in their new house. The kids also made cards for them telling them how much they loved them and would miss them.

Also we had another girls night out at the ministry house this time. The girls had a blast baking cookies and watching a movie.

"The cookies are delicious but our mouths are full so we cannot smile right now."

Boys night out

Faith and the girls from the family centers had a quiet evening of movies and popcorn. So why not have a boys night with movies and popcorn and outdo the girls with pizza. The boys had so much fun. I do not think that they watched any of the movie. They were too excited playing with everyone and everything. To see the excitement from just coming over and having popcorn and pizza at our house, what a blast. They were so excited from the moment we told them, to the next morning after the night out. We tried a puzzle but only one was interested for a minute, then off to play with something else. The kids has so much fun, even if it was not as quiet as the girls night. :-).

We also had our first real snow of the year.

Prayer Request Update

We are looking for a Romanian Christian couple to become houseparents for the Unirea Family center. I have interviewed a couple. My first impressions of them were very good. I am praying for God to confirm that this is the couple that God wants in this position. Pray with me as i will be making a decision in the near future.

Anderson Family Update

We would just like to take a moment and share with you a few prayer requests. We are doing well for the most part; we have been battling severe head colds, pink eye, and the stomach bug for about a month now.
The house parents have been able to move into the house in Jimbolia, but still a little work to be done before kids can arrive. We also have had a missionary couple come from Garden Valley, ID to assist in any way they can to help get the family center started, and to help out after that as well.
Here in Bistrita the Unirea house parents will be leaving in December. No bad terms, just felt like after 3 yrs that it was time for them to move on. So we will now be looking for new house parents here in Bistrita as well. Church has been packed the last few Sundays which is always a blessing.

Specific prayer request:

1. For our health that we will stay well now.

2. Wisdom for Chris in finding new Christian house parents.

3. That the work on the house in Jimbolia and the needs there (beds, mattresses, bedding, etc.) will be completed and met quickly so that we can start receiving kids into the home.

4. All the legal paper work to be done to get the family center in Jimbolia will be completed quickly and with no problems.

5. That the kids and the other visitors we have been having at church will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

6. Finances for New Beginnings as the support has been down.

September update

It has been some time since i last posted an update. Where should i start. I have been travelling all over Romania. We are openning a new family center in Jimbolia, Romania. This is located on the western side of Romania. There is a christian organization there that we are working with. They come along other Christian organizations and help. They have helped us by providing a huge house for the family center.There is a little work to do on the yard, but the house is ready for kids. We have hired Bogdan and Magdaline as houseparents. They have one daughter who is one and a half years old. They are excited and nervous about this new step in thier lives. They believe this is what God wants them to do. They will be moving into the house this next week.

We have a retired pastor and his wife moving to Jimbolia to help out at the family center. The family center has a small apartment attached to the back of the home.

Mihai is growing like a weed. He is finally sitting up on his own. He has his first two teeth that has made him very fussy. He enjoys playing with our dog, Tody.

We just bought a high chair for him. He enjoys sitting with us at the table. Faith gave him a Biscuit to eat all by himself. He enjoyed it immensely, even if he got more of it on his face than in his mouth.

Levi has been back in kindergarden. He enjoys playing with the other kids and making new friends. Chloe can start now even though she is not three. We just have to get her medical form signed and then she can start going. She has been asking to go with Levi. She thinks she is ready, but as far as faith being ready for her to go....:-)

The kids from the Marcus family center went with us to the zoo. We all had a great time seeing the animals and having fun. We even stopped at McDonalds afterwards, and what a treat that was. Here are some pics from the zoo trip.

Kids Camp at the Cabana

Kids Camp.

Three nights and four days in the beautiful mountains of Romania.

What could be better. Add nine kids and three adults to the rustic style of living in the mountains.

The kids had a great time spending time memorizing scripture passages to go along with the Wordless Book, singing songs, playing games, visiting Dracula's castle, and having a bonfire on the last night.

And for those that did not know that we had a concert.
A team of twenty five came to Romania and put on a concert. The team first stopped in England before making thier way here. But first, they performed in Brasov.
We were able to rent the Cultural Center here in Bistrita for the concert.
Approximately 300 people showed up to the concert. The romanians enjoyed the music and fellowship.

Because of the concert we have had two come to church.
I pray that others were touched with the message of the Gospel.

Pray for the youth camp that is taking place right now, and the kids camp that will take place the second half of the week.
Pray that God will use this time to touch the life of the kids. Pray for the volunteers to be a testimony to the kids that come to the camp.

Praise: For the family center that is opening in Jimbolia-we may have some house parents.
Pray: In sept I will be traveling to Jimbolia (12 hour drive) to meet with a couple who want to be house parents. May we have a safe trip. Also will meet with the pastor of a church that wants to be involved in the family center.
Pray: still in need of one couple for house parents in Targoviste.

What a busy summer it has been. We have had family visit, have traveled to conferences, received a new baby in placement whom is living with us at the moment, and it has been very hot. The Lord has shown His grace and provision in so many ways, he has protected our dear Chloe Ruth who has come down with something like the chicken pox and had heat exhaustion due to adjusting to the 100 degree weather with no air condition. He also has given us strength each day to make it through the heat and has now given us some cool air to re energize us. How awesome and wonderful is our Lord. We will praise Him forever and always from sun up to sun down. So many times in life circumstances can over cloud our minds of what is really important in life. Sometimes the Lord uses our dear children to show us what He desires in our lives, to just focus our eyes on Him and to trust Him no matter what lies ahead or behind.

Prayer

A few things do lie ahead for us that we would earnestly ask you to join us in prayer for:

We are in need of godly Christian house parents for two homes. Please pray as time seems to be falling short and many more children need a home, that the Lord would guide us to the couples that He wants to fulfill that position.

That the hearts, eyes, and ears, of the Romanian people would be open to the Gospel and that they would have understanding and receive the Lord

Jesus Christ as personal savior of their lives.

That the people in our Block would be more receptive of us.

Continued prayer for wisdom and guidance for Chris throughout each day, and the many decisions he has to make.

Also we are still awaiting our visas and would be nice if we could get them sometime before summer is over. Also, financial provision for our visas.

Happenings

We are in the process of building a relationship with an elderly homeless man. Levi has become very fond of him. For weeks now we have been telling him hello and occasionally giving him little things such as apples and other fruit. Yesterday was a very big day for Levi as it was the first day the man spoke back to us. It thrilled all our hearts but especially Levi’s as he shared his cookies with the man. We hope to continue to be able to speak with him. Levi asked “how do we tell our friend about Jesus?” So the next time we see him we will tell him Jesus loves you in Romanian (Isus te iubeste). Levi wants to be the one to tell him, with a great big smileJ

We also have coming up this week a team coming from Boise with four bands. We will have a huge concert in the Cultural Center and our very excited to see what the Lord will do through this event. We will show pictures and give an update about this on our web page, chrisandfaithinromania.blogspot.com.

Our New Little Addition to New Beginnings

This is the new addition to New Beginnings. He came into our care on Thursday July, 12. When Chris' sister came to visit. We had the privilege of being introduced to him at the hospital. He was in another update of ours as baby Mihai.
He was abandoned in the hospital when he was one week old and would live there until a home was found for him.

The Lord worked a miracle in getting Mihai placed with New Beginnings so quickly, and he will be able to stay with our family most of the time. Here is Levi with Baby Mihai and he said he would love him like a big brother would:)

What Happened in June

Ephesians 3:17-19 That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith: that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height--to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

This month has been a very busy month for us, and if the Lord has been teaching us anything it would be that in all we do may it be as unto Him and not to man out of the Love of Christ. Our prayer is that we may truely comprehend the Love our Saviour has for us and to know the fullness of God. So often we get very busy in our ministries and doing the work of the Lord but we do it not with the love of God but with our own strength and in the flesh. I want to know that no matter how busy I am for the Lord it is out of love and nothing else. Other wise we have no fruit and the ministry becomes burdensome rather than a joy for the Lord.

This month Chris's sister Jenn came to stay with us for three weeks. It was a blessed time and good to have family come to visit. We were so sad to see her leave and wait with expectation of her visiting again. While she was here she visited the orphanage of children with disabilities, then together I went with her to the children's hospital. I have now committed to go to the children's hospital two mornings a week to love on an abandoned baby there. Jenn and I also went to a program called "open doors" where we had a blast playing with the kids there. We played "UNO" a lot, but loved seeing the smiles on the kids faces just doing what they enjoyed.

Two days after Jenn left we went to the leadership conference in Hungary. It was held at the Calvary Chapel Bible College of Europe. There were over 400 people there that were either missinaries or nationals involved in the ministry. They came from countries all over Europe, just to name a few, Hungary, Romania, Ugoslavia, Austria, Ukraine, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Spain, Serbia, and others. The theme of the conference was, "We Want to See Jesus." It was a great time of praising our Saviour and praying with others for their ministries. We all so had some free time where we got to enjoy the pool quite a bit, which was a great refresher as the temperature rose to 100 degrees two of the days we were there.

While at the conference the Lord really used one of the songs we sang to speak to my heart and I would like to take just a quick moment to share that with you. The song was "I could sing of your love forever," and we all probably know that song or have sang it at some point or other. I really started to think about the words of the song and how often I sing these songs but just the words they don't mean anything to my heart yet I say that I am singing to my Lord. We got to the verse "Oh I feel like dancing, its foolishness I know." Many people think dancing before the Lord is foolish. I for one think I look foolish when I dance, but then the song goes on to say "oh but when the world sees the light they will dance with joy like we are dancing now." Are we dancing before the Lord with joy? Am I dancing before the Lord with Joy? How dare we think to dance before the Lord is foolish. David danced before the Lord with all his might. Do we serve a dry, dull God? No, we serve the Lord God Almighty, Maker and Creator of all things, who can do the impossible and yet we sing of dancing with His joy but how many of us actually do? A lot of Christians say that they are not Christians, because of Christians. It is time, including myself, that we start truely understanding the Love our Lord has for us and walking around in the light of our Lord and Saviour, so that the world can see the joy of the Lord. Even if we look foolish to the world, may we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us and let His joy shine through us to the rest of the world.

Prayers and Updates:

We are still looking for two sets of house parents for two different family centers. We hope for our one family center to be able to start up in the fall. Please pray for God to bring his people to be house parents, and pray for the children that will be placed in the home that even now the Lord will start preparing their hearts to know Him.

We also would ask for prayer for our visas which we have to obtain to live here. They will cost around $600 for the family, and we need them before three months runs up again. Other wise we have to leave the country for a short time and then return.

Lastly we would ask prayer for a brother and sister of ours in the Lord who also are ministering in Romania. They live in a city of over 200,000 thousand people with only about 100 christians. It is a very dark city full of witch craft and other things from the enemy. Each week they have between 300-500 kids plus some parents at their church meeting. They are going through lots of spiritual warfare with the enemy and are also is desperate need of some laborers to come along side of them. Right now it is only the two of them. Please pray for this dear couple.

We appreciate all of your prayers and support. We love you all and thank you so much for all that you do. Especially after being at the conference and seeing all of the missionaries there, it made me all the more thankful for you. Because you too are following the Lords leading, and without you to being faithful to the Lord's calling ourselves nor the other missionaries would be able to follow the Lord's leading in our lives and go. You make a difference and we love you and thank you.

Kids day

Kids day. A day set aside for kids. The kids from the family centers in Bistrita as well as the kids from church got together for a time of games, food, and lots of candy.

The older kids had relay races.While the younger kids were inside and had ring toss and ball tossing competitions, along with a few other games.Another game the older kids played was sort of like duck, duck, goose. but instead of counting ducks, they run around and stand in front of another. that person then runs away from the person that is it.

Winky, the clown had the most fun. She was a hit among the kids.

The sword balloons were to best ever made. Even the girls liked them. The

kids went home happy and content (and a little tired).

What Happened in May

Our living room carpet was moldy, dirty, and ugly. The vacuums here are not as good as they are in the USA. Even after vacuuming you can see the dirt. The stains on the carpet seem to grow larger with each day. In order to clean it you have to take the carpet up and scrub it with soap and a brush. Then hang it out to dry. This has to be done once a month in order to keep it clean. We decided to go with hard wood laminate flooring.

The floor under the carpet was not much better.
After a day of running around trying to find a finishing blade for the saw, we finally started. The missionary pastor, Brian, and I finished the floor in about 6 hours. Not bad for the first time.

This is the end result of our hard work.

Not only is this our living room, but the guest bedroom. Our first guest to stay with us is my sister Jennifer. She stopped over on her way back from a missions trip to Kiev, Ukraine. While here Faith, along with Natalie, have taken Jennifer to the children's hospital to visit the kids. She has gone to the orphanage as well as to The Open Doors Ministry to gypsy children. She has been enjoying her time here. It has been a joy having her stay with us.

Please pray for one of the boys that we have in placement. He is having a lot of emotional problems. Pray for wisdom on how to deal with this situation.
We have had a couple quit being house parents. We now have to find two sets of house parents. One set for an existing house, and then one for a new home we are opening in Jimbolia.
Pray for wisdom for the house parents we currently have. Give them wisdom and strength to deal with the kids each day. Wisdom on how to raise the kids.
Pray for me that I would have wisdom on dealing with the house parents and the ministry as a whole.

Romanian National Conference 2007

Cine este Isus? (Who is Jesus?)This was the theme of the Romanian National Conference 2007 held in central Romania. The theme verse was found in Matthew 16:15- "Who do you say I am?"
There were two main speakers from America that shared their hearts with us. Ken Sutton has been a pastor with Calvary Chapel for thirteen years in Romania, England, Washington State, and currently he is an assistant pastor in Costa Mesa. Ken asked five questions he saw from Matthew 16:12-18. Bob Caldwell also spoke to us. He has been the pastor of Calvary Chapel, Boise for the last 25 years. The ministry has grown and expanded both locally and internationally to reach many for Christ. His main sessions were on the love of God for the Church. This is Jesus- to love. To love because He first loved us. It is not what I have to do to be good, or to earn his love. Take a few moments and read through the Gospels and you will see Jesus is love.

The worship was refreshing and heartfelt. How great it is to be able to worship anywhere, and in any language.
The days were warm and the evening thunderstorms cooled off the warmth to leave a refreshing coolness.

All the kids at the conference loved bouncing on the trampoline, and playing on the playground.

We would gather in the cafeteria for meals. Breakfast and supper were about the same, bread, cheese, sandwich meat, butter or jam, and coffee or tea to drink. The main meal was served at lunch. Beginning with a soup before we moved on to the rest of the meal. A few things that we had were mashed potatoes, chicken, snitzel, and porc. The food was great.

We came away from the conference refreshed and yearning to fall more in love with Jesus.
On the drive home, Chloe was car sick. My driving, plus the bumpy roads and traffic contributed to her being sick. As soon as we got home she was better. It was good to be home in our own beds again.

Dear Friends and Family,
We have been in Romania now barely over a month, and have already been very busy. Our time here though has never been dull and has been very exciting. The mold in our apartment is almost completely cleaned up, and we have finally figured out how the washing machine works. No more problems with flooding the laundry room.
Since we have been here we have all been sick with severe head colds at one time or another. Levi who has been the sickest with a high fever that lasted a week is now finally better. Let’s focus our attention however on the more excited things. This month we celebrated our Lord’s resurrection, what a joy and privilege to have been able to celebrate in another country. Levi started kindergarten. Some days he likes it and others he doesn’t. Chloe had her 2nd birthday which was a real thrill, but also reminded me how fast our kids are growing up. The kids and I have finally managed to get the ladies at our corner store to smile, and we met some of our neighbors. The cutest thing was when Levi gave the two ladies one flower each. What a blessing to see the smiles on their faces, and Levi was blessed with a huge hug and kiss.
Chris has been very busy getting to know the house parents and children of each family center. He also traveled to Jimbolia where he got to see the new

family center that will be opening soon. That was very exciting for all of us. The kids and I wanted to travel with, but it
was a 12 hour drive one way and would have just been too much on the kids. We so enjoyed looking at the pictures when he returned. Soon we will have kids in there and a set of house parents to raise them in. The house was provided to us by The Bridge Foundation and is a huge blessing from our Lord. Please keep this family center in your prayers. Pray for the children that the Lord will place in the center, and also for the House Parents that He is raising up to love them and nurture them with Jesus’ love. Chapel missions will also soon need a church plant there so please pray for the person God will lead to start His church in Jimbolia.
We are very pleased that each one of you could come along side of us in this ministry. Thank you so much for all of your prayers, and support. We look forward to being able to share with you each month what God is doing in the ministry here. Not only with New Beginnings, but also the ministry he has given us in the block in which we live. It is also such a blessing to hear from each of you so thank you for all of the emails we have received.
Many of you ask for prayer requests each time we speak so here is just a short list of things you can be praying for: Levi to adjust to school and make friends, our health, wisdom for Chris in all decisions made for New Beginnings, the two ladies that work at the corner store that God would open their hearts, language learning so we would be able to talk to more people in our building, and God’s guidance in all that we say and do, we want Him to receive all glory and honor.
